The City of Alamosa Welcomes New Finance Director, Emily Martinez

Alamosa, CO — The City of Alamosa is pleased to welcome Emily Martinez as the City’s new Finance Director. An Alamosa native with deep ties to the community, Martinez brings over 10 years of professional experience in the financial sector to her new role. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of capacities, developing an extensive background in fiscal management, strategic budgeting, and financial analysis. Her long-standing presence in the community, paired with her diverse technical expertise, makes her a vital addition to the City's leadership team as Alamosa continues its commitment to transparent and responsible fiscal oversight.

Emily Martinez expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity to serve her community in this new capacity. "I am honored to take on this role and look forward to working collaboratively to create a meaningful, lasting impact for the City of Alamosa.”

City Manager Heather Sanchez shared “We are very excited to have Emily join our team!  Emily demonstrated her ability to handle what is a very complex and demanding position.  We were grateful for the interest from many highly qualified individuals.”

In addition to welcoming Martinez, the City of Alamosa extends its deepest gratitude to Leanne Lounsbury for her three years of dedicated service. During her time, Lounsbury was instrumental in maintaining the City's financial health and contributed significantly to the success of numerous municipal projects and long-term budget planning. The City of Alamosa wishes her the very best of luck and continued success in all her future endeavors.
