Maverick Gas Station Robbery Arrest

Alamosa, CO – The Alamosa Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred at the Maverik Convenience Store, located at 3141 Main Street, during the early morning hours of April 8, 2026.

At approximately 2:07 a.m., officers were dispatched to the store after receiving a report of a robbery that had just occurred. An employee reported that a male, later identified as Sergio Mauri (35) of Alamosa, entered the store wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants. The suspect appeared to be concealing what was described as possibly a rifle on his back underneath his clothing. Mauri approached the counter, demanded access to the cash register, and requested cigarettes.

When the employee refused to open the register, Mauri went behind the counter and took approximately five packs of cigarettes before leaving the store on foot without making payment. The employee described Mauri’s demeanor as threatening during the incident.

Through further investigation and review of surveillance footage, officers were able to identify Mauri as the suspect. Officers also determined that Mauri had been in the presence of a protected party, in violation of an active protection order.

At approximately 9:46 p.m. on April 8, 2026, officers located Mauri at a residence in the 800 block of Maroon Drive. Mauri was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center. Evidence consistent with the reported stolen items was located at the residence.

Mauri has been charged with:

Aggravated Robbery (F3)
Theft (M2)
Violation of a Restraining Order (M1)
