About the Alamosa Fire Department

The Alamosa Fire Department formed in 1879, and currently serves both the City of Alamosa and Southern Alamosa County with two volunteer stations.

As a result of the training and education we provide our staff, we are able serve our community in the event of crisis and emergency needs, including the following specific needs

  • Auto Extrication & Traffic Accident Scene Support
  • Hazmat Mitigation
  • Wildland Fire Prevention and Suppression
  • Fighting Structure Fire
  • Ice & Water Rescue
  • Response to Flammable Liquids & Gases Emergencies
